Dons were driving again. Then turned it over on a fumble. Antioch got their first 1st down as time expired in the 1st quarter.

Dons were stopped on 4th. Then Dons stopped Antioch on 4th. ND put together a nice drive, highlighted by a 45 yard pass and a rushing TD. 2p conversion good. Antioch is a tough team.

Dons get the ball on their own 43 with with 45 seconds left in the half. Great pass plays march them all the way to the 4 yardline where the Dons offense stalled out. Would have been nice to get another TD before half. I told my wife that we'd leave early for Booby's sandwiches if ND gets a running clock!

Dons opening 2h drive stalls out. Antioch puts together its first real drive, aided by some bad penalties on ND. I sense my Booby's steak sandwich is slipping away.

Dons throw a pick and the Niles faithful begin murmuring nervously. Fortunately, the Dons defense stood tall. And then the offense struck quickly.

Just in from the game. The ND defense looked good today. Gave up one TD drive that was aided by 30 yards in penalties. Antioch could not run the ball at all against the ND front 7. Great performances by Randy Russ and Nick Thome. Kudos to S Darveon Moore who really stepped up and played a great game tonight. The entire defense played great but those 3 really stood out.

Offensively we took to the air today. Enzo Ricciardi did a nice job , he threw an INT and fumbled but the turnovers didn’t hurt us. Kevin Durkin and Quenten Jackson made a lot of catches and Howard Williamson got a few run plays. Franky Ricciardi didn’t play much on offense but Randy Russ, Anthony Thome and Jack Baca did the job closing out the game running behind the big guys up front. We missed an XP and really should have scored a couple more TD’s but we got the job done. On to round 2 and Wauconda. Can’t wait. Go Dons!!

Lots of football still to be played but, damn, I'm liking the Dons in 6A. A lot. If they can avoid a letdown a la Benet, they're going deep.
