The symmetry to last year’s playoff matchup is striking. Keys to the game? Who’s favored? What’s the tuccs line in this one?

Keys:
- Special Teams, SP played a big role in Spartans week 9 win.
- No dumb penalties
- SF don’t get down early like last years playoff loss
- health, I hope both are relatively healthy

Agree 100%. I also think SF needs to establish a run game…Racki and co. will make adjustments to their passing D vs. last game.

Real line Naz -10 (ok that’s my line)
tucs line SF -100000000
I think Naz -20 is an actually appropriate line. Calpreps has Naz as a -13 favorite in the playoffs on a neutral field…tack on another score for the home field advantage and you get to -20.

SF has had an excellent year, and they are going to be a prohibitive favorite in 5A next year with all they’re bringing back, but this will be Naz closing out this decorated senior class’ chapter with one last title.

I have zero expectations going into this game.

PJJP,

This is one game I won’t wager because I have far too many friends and connections to both sides of the field. I really wish these guys were in separate classes so I could cheer on both full throttle!
I wondered about that. I know you are a McMillen guy. Who wins?

Love Bobby and his whole Family, also love Racki and his entire crew. This game is tough especially since they played each other once already this year. There have been few teams that have been able to beat a Racki team twice in the same year. At this point my lean would be Naz for the win, but not ready to make that call quite yet. I will make a call later this week.

Something that is not lost on me is had the kneel down officiating catastrophe not occurred at the end SF vs. Prov this game would be at Francis instead of Naz.

Not necessarily. It would have changed St. Francis' seed and thus changed their entire path to the semi's.

In that scenario though the top 4 seeds are:

Sycamore 1
SF 2
Rochelle 3
Nazareth 4

So SF and Naz still on opposite ends of 5A north…and given how these playoffs have shaken out (no one has come within 1 score of SF or Naz), the only team that can beat either of them is Joliet Catholic.

Oh they fully would still be in the semi's facing Naz, I meant that if their seed were different who they played and where the games were at would change so it wouldn't be guaranteed that it would be a home game against Naz.

Ah that makes sense, and this is true.

This game is really starting to concern me. I mean Naz has essentially had a cake walk through the playoffs clocking all 3 opponents so far while Franny is battle tested. Not to mention the way they dominated in special teams and on 4th down against Naz in week 9. I don't see how the spread tightens any further than Franny -10

My main concern is will Francis still be motivated after winning the Tuccs bowl? I’ve been impressed with how hard they’ve played in these recent exhibition games.
