Naz 16 Hilltoppers 13 FINAL nm

Did JCA really let NAZ run out the clock at the end of the 1st Qtr, with 3rd and 11 at their own 1 yard line, GOING into the wind?

Just to have them get the wind behind them the pass for 14 yards 1st play of the 2nd?

Very very very STUPID.
Naz had no more than 5 yards of offense at the end of Q1…but hey, JCA still had 2 TOs at halftime.

I was watching on the stream and thought the same thing. Could've made them punt into the wind.

Was a weird sequence there.
Hilltoppers had chances to win for sure. Defense continued to keep them in the game. The last 4 weeks weeks of regulation the defense has given up no more than 17 point's a game against very good offensive teams.
Don’t know why on offense they don’t use #20 more often.
On to ND next week. Need a win there.

The wind certainly factored into the scheming of both teams.
Until the Hilltoppers move past committing untimely penalties and adapt to defending those killer slant routes, the boys look to face more disappointment in the coming weeks.
As a team they have shown a lot of growth, but discipline comes with maturity and the mental mistakes reveal that they still have along way to go.
Taking nothing from Naz, but the Hilltoppers certainly beat themselves last night.

Had a commitment last night. Just watched the game. Very winnable game, as you suggested, that was lost due to untimely penalties (false starts etc.) and coverage breakdowns. And the end of half clock management and play calling was head scratching.

All the points were scored in the south end zone. The wind was tough. Naz had the benefit of driving south in the 4Q.

These 2 teams could meet up again in the playoffs.
