LWE 24 LA 27 final

Your team had the ball for 2 minutes in the second half got manhandled on the line of scrimmage the entire second half chose to play passive pass coverage.

THAT was your game plan and somehow your ok with it because the game was close? Um ok.
Speaking of coaching...when you as a multiple state championship winning head coach lecture a new head coach post-game and refuse to handshake their staff because you're mad they kicked a FG to ruin your shutout when you were already up 49...well like they say karma is kind of a...

Good luck to the Ramblers and Dukes next week in the 8A title game.

Alot of teams do it. I remember crete got esl to jump at least 5x a few years ago in the semi's. It wasn't a close game so it didn't matter though.

If the def can't simulate a snap, the offensive line shouldn't be able to do that. Its sole intent is to simulate the snap of the ball. It’s esp tough in hs when simply crossing the neutral zone kills the play.
Like I said I’ve seen it all day. I’ve seen it more this year than I’ve ever seen it. If I’ve noticed, I’m sure every good staff has seen it. Getting 15-17 year old kids to not flinch there in the heat of battle is tough.

i know him IRL and he would never do that!

My take. The better team won tonight. East defense isn’t the defense we have normally used to seeing. I think LA game plan was spot on and coach Z didn’t make adjustments to stop LA. IMO Jonas Williams was the best player on the field but LA was the better overall team.
Good luck LA you will win State again if you play like you did tonight.

Send the rest of the 60440 then maybe they can beat a private
No. We have nothing left to send. We should be decent next year though 7-2/6-3 depending on who we get to replace HC. Hopefully someone from the Upstate 23.

We're a basketball school now. I invite everyone out to support Raider hoops. I need the ESL people to send the scouting report on O'Fallon ASAP.

That's insane. Anybody watching knows lwe was the better more talented team. they shit the bed.

I argued earlier this season that the next LWE HFC has everything in place to take the program to the next level. I'm still pulling daggers out of my back. No disrespect to Coach Z, he's built one of the best programs in the state, but the Griffins should have like 7 titles by now.

Newt I can tell you're feeling it tonight. First, not my team buddy. I don't root for LWE. Second, Loyola made adjustments. So did LWE. Loyola did it better. LWE players got beat up on the line. That's not coaching. The pass coverage made sense but didn't work. I would suggest choosing different language or find definitions for "pantsed". Being pantsed means run out for the building. Dominated. I know you're smarter than this.

I'm glad LWE lost. Don't really like them. But I respect their coaching staff. And they were competitive the whole game. Which is literally the complete opposite of being pantsed. Take this as a learning experience!
They had the more talented team by a fairly wide margin lol. Terribly coached game by their staff.

Too early to report….

This was the first time that LWE couldn’t bully a team…

A harder in season schedule may have really helped them in this game

Williams is a legit stud

Loyala might have the best coaching staff in the state
It was a hard game for me because my kids are all going to Lincoln-Way East and I need to bleed the Blue, Black and White for the next 15 years, but my father-in-law also worked with the Dad of the Loyola HC and always tells me how much of a great family they all are. Wishing both teams the best of luck going forward.

Loyola has a lot of peoples numbers…

The 0-2 start did nothing other than make them super disciplined and determined to get respect

No shame in losing to them and quite an accomplishment in beating them

Some of these comments are absolutely insane.
Loyola did a great job of gaining control of pace and keeping LWE offense off the field. Congrats to the Ramblers who made a lot with superb line play . The Griffins ran out of time but have nothing to hang their heads about. How many of y’all would not take a 12-1 season and final four spot for your team. Also, if any of your AD’s out there are looking for games you can call Frankfort anytime.

Im not questioning if it happens often. I just don't like the way the rule/play is exploited.

Laughable comment.

I’m not either. I’m just saying I’ve seen it quite often. I’m assuming no one on the line is set when they jump like that. I’d love to hear a ref’s view on it.

Lol ok man.

I’m just a fan so can someone explain to me if LWE defensive talent was “clearly superior” to LA’s offense. I didn’t see that. In fact, this is second year in a row LWE D looked ordinary (or at least not world class) against LA.

LWE will be back next year no question. They have one team to beat eventually they will figure it out next year?

I think I said East D was not what we have been used to seeing in an earlier post.

Loyola had a ton of help from the refs tonight. That is all.......
Can’t say that is factual. I can say holding was a call that was not made either way tonight. Have also not seen this particular crew at any of the 17 HS games I have attended this season. We need officials at all levels of sports so I won’t go there at all.
