Why on week two of the playoffs did the enforcement of knee coverage for all players become an equipment issue and takes a player out of the game for a play? Is there pending legal action with the IHSA? This has been a “fashion” issue for a few years that I have not witnessed being addressed. Asking the crowd for an explanation…

Some officials are all over it and some are not. I think it depends on the crew. We are all over them at MS about it so we don’t have this issue.

It was enforced all year.

Some refs, in all sports, treat rules like this as suggestions instead of enforceable. Like wearing jewelery during baseball games come to mind. It's the coaches responsibility in the end to make sure that they are compliant.

mc140 been to all LWE games and have not seen anyone have this one called out. At NV had a receiving player for Neuqua and the kicker at LWE sent out of the play. If anything one would think the mouth guard would be enforced more as well.

Before virtually every game this year we had officials doing a knee pad check. Saw players removed in multiple games early on.

I’ve seen it enforced and ignored but was told by a ref friend that warnings that were given by some in the regular season won’t be given in the playoffs. Just cover your damn knees. It’s not making you faster and it looks like your wearing 80’s spandex shorts!
