McAllister brings a wealth of experience, a proven track record of success, and an unwavering commitment to student-athlete development both on and off the field.

McAllister’s career highlights are a testament to his dedication and expertise in high school football coaching. With a career coaching record of 113-48, his accomplishments include:

McAllister most recently served as Head Football Coach at Carl Sandburg High School, where he led the team to multiple state playoff appearances, including the 2021, 2023, and 2024 seasons. Before Sandburg, McAllister coached at Wendell Phillips Academy High School in Chicago, where he achieved unparalleled success, including a 94-28 record, two state championships, and 23 players signing National Letters of Intent with NCAA Division I football programs. Notably, Phillips remains the only Chicago Public Schools program to have ever won a state football championship.

McAllister’s coaching career began at Dunbar Career Academy High School and includes experience at the collegiate level as a Receiver Coach at Queen’s University in Canada. He has also been a sought-after speaker at numerous coaching clinics, sharing his knowledge and passion for the game.

In addition to his coaching credentials, McAllister’s educational background includes teaching roles at Dulles Elementary School, Benjamin Mays Elementary School, Wendell Phillips Academy, and Carl Sandburg High School. He has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fostering the academic and personal growth of his students.

“We are thrilled to welcome Troy McAllister to the Homewood-Flossmoor family,” said Athletic Director Matt Lyke. “His record of success on the field, coupled with his dedication to education and community engagement, makes him the ideal leader for our football program and an outstanding addition to our teaching staff.”

Splashy hire. He was 1-2 vs LWE while at Sandburg. Will any transferring result?
