A terrific, strange and exciting night into one. Huh?
St. Charles North had a pregame community cancer awareness event the Kicks to Cancer event. It featured a few speakers that were very emotional and touching followed by the "kickoff" which was used as a fundraiser to raise money for cancer research etc. and that was followed by a huge pregame fireworks display...
Now don't get me wrong this was a terrific event and very worthwhile...yet the strange part is that this was right before a varsity football game against two huge in town rivals...and it just seemed a bit....strange?
Anyway, onto the game.
St. Charles North controlled the first quarter then St. Charles East basically controlled tempo and the football the rest of the game. Pretty simple as that.
North has talent, a huge offensive line and some key playmakers...yet the North Star defense just had issues trying to contain the East power option running game from the 2nd quarter on.
The East defense was outsized quite a bit but basically out played North for the win.
A lot more to follow in the Scouting Reports.
