Has Stagg or Thornton hired a coach yet?
Getting many kinds of info from the latter is often difficult and considering the combination of being the summer and a pandemic in place will not help. Reaching someone from a particular D205 building instead of the district office has been troublesome. Info about the whens/wheres of lower level contests and pre-season public scrimmages has not always been available. Getting a roster of both teams at a Thornton FB game might happen by Homecoming, at the earliest. Also, Wildcat rosters not posted in either MaxPreps or IL8to18 platforms. Finally, scores from a varsity FB game in Harvey are usually not reported with similar timing of other schools, sometimes a day or days late. Not judging ... just stating real facts from the last decade of experience.

Jackson held Thornton together, he didn’t even want his own son playing for the program. With him gone I doubt Thornton fields a team, and it’s a shame because I’m sure there is plenty of talent in that building.

Stagg is a different story. Huge school, shouldn’t have an issue fielding a team, but due to so many sub par years most of the better players in the Palos/Hickory Hills area go to Catholic schools. They are in a tough conference to compete too. It’s a challenging job, but some up and comer looking to build his resume should want to take a chance

The extra challenge for Stagg, and the other 4 Red Division SWSC schools, is the baked-in annually crossover of 3 games mandated with the much higher enrollment 8A Blue Division schools (LWE, H-F, 'Brook, Lockport and Sandburg). The Red teams can pretty much pencil in at least 2 losses from the crossovers every year, which does not leave much margin for error in the rest of the schedule. You basically have to win out to even get a sniff at hosting a 1st round playoff game.

Stagg is currently the worst job in the south/southwest suburbs all things considered as it pertains to getting playoff eligible. Joliet Central is the other and even they are in a pretty weak conference right now.

Stagg begged to go into the Argo Conference but was declined.Stagg has had some good teams in the past. The racial makeup of the area has changed a lot(Same with Sandburg) to where many kids are geared for soccer & do not play football

Would be surprised if Stagg had a HC by the first game. Many qualified candidates turned away, from what I hear, coaches from the previous staff and even some coaches in the same conference wanted the job.
Fun fact: Who has more wins in last decade Argo or Stagg?
Wins 2010-2019
Argo 27
Stagg 19
if my math is correct
I miss the Sica.Outside of Shepard Argo had it’s best success vs Stagg

To be fair how many games would Argo win playing the same schedule as Stagg? How many would Stagg win playing the same schedule as Argo?
Considering '19 schedule IMO, if you consider the 7 games for each team that are either conference or required cross-overs, Argo would go 0-7 against: 'Brook, Sandburg, Andrew, LWW, Bradley, LWC, Lockport. Stagg is tougher to predict aside from a likely loss to Richards and win against Oak Lawn. The 5 games against Shepard, Reavis, Evergreen, Eisenhower and Bremen might be something like 2-3, at best?

That is not the question. All things considered Stagg is much a tougher place to win as things currently sit. Not that it is easy at Argo, but SSC setup and opponents currently gives them a better chance to be competitive against their schedule.

Maybe having no connection to Stagg will be a blessing. The Chargers need new blood, new direction and a new vision. Good luck to him.

Probably a pay raise. Even though they start you at year one in 230.
