VERY interesting new conference, especially from a travel perspective. Distance between the Youngstown and Columbus Catholic schools is a little over 200 miles. If Illinois private schools would travel that far during the regular season for conference games, then that that means some tweaking of the NIPL might add to the overall excitement and passion within private school athletics.
In my fantasy NIPL private school athletic association, I tried to keep it relatively local to northeastern Illinois in the thinking that private schools wouldn't want to travel far to play against each other. Swelling the NIPL by offering it to private schools from Springfield north to the Wisconsin state line, would add a couple of dozen more private schools into the mix and address the naysayers who claim that the NIPL would be too small to have manageable or meaningful championship playoffs.
