I'm off to a tough start on the hunt for Upsets this year, but that all changes tonight. This week we'll go out to the West Suburban Silver for a conference schedule opening battle. This week's upset is...... The 0-2 Hilltoppers of Glenbard West over the undefeated #7 ranked Trojans of Downers Grove North. The Hitters are winless so far,but they've played 2 monsters in Batavia and Loyola. Their problem has been defense, which is usually their strong point. DGN on the other hand has not given up a point yet this year. However, they haven't been close to tested. The Hitters are not O'Fallon or DGS. I like visiting Glenbard West tonight. Final score Hitters 28 - DGN 21. That's this week's upset. What are your thoughts and who is your upset?

Massey prediction: Washington 35 Metamora 16.
I'm picking Metamora 23 Washington 19.

I'm 2-0 so far this year, so lets go for the trifecta. I kinda like Montini knocking off Marist. But I am gonna go to the western suburbs for my pick. Ill say Hinsdale Central takes down LT in the huge rivalry game. Go Devils!

Honestly, I didn’t think Cal preps did their lines for a couple more weeks, so I didn’t check. if that is the case, take Lockport, unless Cal prep says differently

Per Calpreps:
regular season (neutral field)
[2024] Naperville North (Naperville, IL) 31 (74%), [2024] Lockport (IL) 21 (26%)

GBW is dealing with a lot of significant injuries from what I've heard. So this prediction would be even more exceptional!

Rolling Meadows over Glenbrook North

I was running down my list and had to pick one. That's my personal joy for the week. Not because it's Rochester losing, but picking an upset. I don't get into the northern schools as much so I'm less comfortable making picks with them involved. The CS8 needs some new spice. The Railers could provide such seasoning this evening...

If it helps you feel any better, my 2nd place upset pick, and it was close...

Williamsville 28
Byron 27
Byron goes for 2 after time expires, Bullets make the stand. Happy trails back to the old country, Tigres.

Although it will not happen, I'll take NAZ over MC.:oops:

That would really solidify LWE, CG and ESL as the top 3 teams in the state.
Not to derail the thread so if and it’s a BIG IF the lowly Roadrunners shock the world and slay the mighty Goliath of 7A, I’d like to revisit in another thread and pick your brain as to where that would put Naz. Its probably not going to happen so you’re off the hook but would be an interesting topic nonetheless.

Good Question. I was having the same question right after I made that post. :)

I appreciate your courage, but Williamsville is going to get throttled 🤣
