I have only myself to blame for last week. #1.....Why would I not take my Caravan to beat Rita? #2....Why would I doubt our Carmelite little brothers over at JCA? Oh well, live and learn. On to this weeks upset. This week I'm picking a team I've never before chosen as my upset special winners ( I've picked against them many times). A team that is very rearly an underdog. This weeks pick is........... The Roadrunners of Nazareth Academy over the "Football Team" of Lemont High School. The "Football Team" won big last week, putting up 47 vs SCE. Their defense was also solid, holding them to one score. Naz on the other hand really struggled in their opener, losing to an (in my opinion) under rated Richards . Why pick Naz, a team who looks to be struggling???? Coach Tim Racki. There's no way he lets this team continue to underachive. I like Naz tonight. Final score Roadrunners of Nazareth 28 - "Football Team" of Lemont 21. That's this weeks upset. What are your thughts, and who is your upset?

As much as I have enjoyed your signature thread, I have always considered it a toxic mixture of the divine and devilish. I do, however, want to thank you for not picking Rochester over LA. Had you done so, you almost certainly would have assured my Ramblers of defeat.

As you cast your spell on Friday mornings for the remainder of the season, on behalf of the entire Loyola community I am appealing to your better nature to refrain from including LA in your "upset specials." I tend to believe LA will have a successful season and would prefer it not become a casualty of your curse.

I thank you in advance.

In other words, no witch-craft you wonderful, mystical sayer of sooth.

i'll go with rochester over la. why not?
Because you are picking against Holececk (yes I realize that Leonard is right up there with him). Because the game is at Loyola where many of the state's best programs come and lose. Because Loyola players' commute to the game is way closer to 3.5 minutes than it is to 3.5 hours.

For starters.

I am super excited for this game. Do you happen to know who reached out to whom?

The first week is always the toughest to pick, and now add the covid into the equation- not easy.

rm-check your pms on the other board.

I expect it to be close but I’d be stunned if it went in the 30’s.
We all know what MS is all about, particularly in meaningful games. They are averaging a state title every 3 years. They have the ingredients to "swagger" again this year with all conference/all-state qb, rb, te/wr and edge rusher/dl.
Maine South by 10.

Richards over Marist...no reason other then it would be an upset

Who's AUSL and how do they affect football status at Phillips?
AUSL is a school management group that the CPS uses for certain struggling schools.

I believe that if a school is AUSL then they are not just a neighborhood school (meaning they can admit kids from all over the city). Since Phillips is no longer and AUSL school, they will drastically lose a lot of the talent that might have come from outside their neighborhood boundary. With the loss of McCallister I guess people believe Phillips will go back to what it was before he showed up.
