The boy broadcaster just talked about how Lyons bided his time behind Pops Battle. WHILE HE WAS AT GRANITE CITY.
More fake news about the ESL QB - he did not sit three years behind Pops.
Geneva provided a legitimate challenge, but the Flyers are too good. In the context of the entire season, beginning to end, nobody should question that East St. Louis deserves to be considered the best team in the state this year (regardless of class level).
Carson Boyd sat two years - then he went to Ritter - and next year at U of Illinois. The kicker Shanklin was back up last year - then Lyons came in, so Reese sits another year.
Ball game. Closer than I thought it was going to be. But still not close.
As good of a game any Illinois team gave the Flyers. Kudos to Geneva!
They used to have a high-rise podium at ISU when they did the trophy presentations. They also mentioned the names of the adminstrators, coaches and captains. Wonder why they changed all that? Probably took too much time I guess.
How will they find a QB to get them the ball next year?
A lot of those kids do come in as freshmen they also lose a lot to transfers but that never gets brought up.
They have a 2 QB’s for next year 11 a sophomore and they have a freshman who I think is going to be a good one

OK, I wasn't paying that close of attention. I just remember the handful of times I covered title games at Hancock Stadium. The elevated platform and the announcing of the names.

If you need a few players just ask. I know there are a few 3rd and 4th string guys that would come in and be starters for a team like SE
I think the ref shortage has been pretty evident. Alot of bad calls, alot of misapplication of the rules.

The penalty tally from the 6a game....ESL 14 for 155. Geneva 3 for 12.

I thought the fumble/incomplete pass on chahino was pretty obviously a fumble. I didn't have a good look at the int the called on the pick closest to the fieldhouse.
Just watched the replay. Pretty clear that one hit the ground.
