CPL Pick 'Em: Prep Bowl Week 10

With the state playoffs happening for 6 of the top 8 in the city we're left with a single matchup...

Taft Eagles vs Brooks College Prep Eagles Thursday 6pm at Lane
Well isn't this matchup for the birds. The Eagles of the Northwest Side take on the Eagles of the Far South Side. Gonna go out on a limb here and say the Eagles take the game but the Redcoats secure the true victory, small stage practice before the big state games this weekend.

What's the lineup look like for the CCL? Maybe we can break down those matchups too.

Taft vs Brooks
A few years back, this was the first matchup under the lights at the new Taft Football Field. I remember a few of us were going to roll over and get walk up tickets to catch the festivities, only to get there and find the entire place crawling with people and the gate folks just laughing at us thinking we were going to get a ticket. So, we stood outside of the south endzone and watched Taft go up by what seemed like 30 before halftime. Electric atmosphere in Norwood Park. Best thing was watching the extra points sail over our heads and onto the westbound ramp to the Kennedy. Tough to get the balls back when they are immediately rolled over by a semi.... Even with the one sided game, the crowd didn't let up...had no problem hearing the noise when we were at the Har Hig with a bunch of "retired" Taft coaches complaining about Taft not playing on Thursday nights anymore.

They can stop their complaining now! Taft is back for Big Shoulders Thursday!!

Since I've been gone for a while and Taft returns to Lane (where they had some of their most classic Big Shoulders battles), this song seems to fit....

Oh, come on ooh yeah, well they tried to tell you so (Taft is back at Lane!), but they guess you didn't know(oh yeah we do), as they said the story goes(Taft has some stories at Lane), Baby, now they've got the flow(hopefully no trash bags over the toilet), 'Cos they knew it from the start(you knew they'd be back one day!), Baby, when you broke their heart(they were so sad to leave), That they had to come again and show you that they're real.
