Preseason Conference Most Valuable Player?
Willowbrook senior RB Joshua Brown
Joshua Brown has been the Warriors main offensive weapon going back to the spring season. Brown has a great combination of speed, shiftiness and power and can run over or run past opposing defenders. Brown's ability to start and stop on a dime is impressive, and Brown also seemed to be able to get up to full speed in just a few steps. Brown in my eyes looks priming for a huge 2021 fall season for the Warriors.
Toughest Overall Schedule?
Downers Grove South- In all fairness several West Suburban Gold teams have pretty nasty schedules this fall, yet the Mustangs just feels a slightly more nasty. Downers Grove South open with Wheaton North, travels to Glenbard West then will host rival Downers Grove North. Not tough enough for you? The Hit Harders then take on Willowbrook in Week 4. That's one strong first four opening weeks of the IHSA football season for Downers Grove South.
Sleeper Player to Watch?
Downers Grove South junior QB Ryan Dawson- Ok, so Ryan Dawson might not be a total sleeper type at least in some limited recruiting circles, but Dawson (6-foot-4, 210 pounds) has a real chance at making some real positive impressions this fall for the Mustangs. Dawson has all the tools you look for in a potential FBS level quarterback. Dawson has good size and physicality, throws a good, accurate ball and looks to be a confident and accurate passer. Dawson will need to continue to improve upon that overall consistency inside and outside of the pocket this fall, yet if the Mustangs begin to win some key games they can end up being a pretty nice sleeper team candidate. Dawson's early fall season video will get a ton of looks from several levels of college coaches.

Downers Grove South at Willowbrook September 17th- Yet another early big time conference showdown game here for both the Mustangs and the Warriors? Depending upon how the first three non conference games go, could one or both teams make this into a must win scenario? Regardless, lot's will be at stake when these two meet up in Mid September
Willowbrook at Hinsdale South October 8th- Willowbrook walloped Hinsdale South 42-7 in the spring season, and trust me that score has been on the back burner for a very proud Hinsdale South program. Expect a hard hitting and physical; game whenever these two hook up.
Addison Trail at Leyden October 15th- Could possible IHSA state playoff implications be involved in this Week 8 game?
West Suburban Gold Conference Statement Game?
Willowbrook at Providence Catholic- This game was last played in 2019 and Providence Catholic got past Willowbrook 14-7. This time around? The Warriors will have it's best chance to best a CCL/ESCC power in New Lenox in Week 1 as the Celtics will be reloading at several key spots this fall. Willowbrook has played various CCL teams pretty well over the past handful of seasons in the post-season, so this isn't a new deal for them. Yet anytime a suburban public high school can beat a CCL program, it's a big deal.
