my picks

10 - Batavia
8 - SCE
6- Glenbard West
4- Glenbard North
2 - SCN

10 - St. Charles East
8 - Glenbard West
6 - Glenbard North
4 - Wheaton North
2 - St. Charles North

Interesting to see all the love for St. Charles North. Was not overly impressed when I saw them against Palatine and they had a tighter than expected game vs. LZ. WWS game will be interesting to see how they measure up in the dukane.

If StN loses it will be a long year for them, WWS plays hard and has some talent but has some glaring weak spots. StN always get a lot of love and hype, this game should be a win for them.

Looks like they have Qb problems at SCN
They do have a QB problem. They have a young kid who will be one of the best around over the next two years and is learning. They have a Sr. That is so disgustingly underrated as well. It is a problem when you have two good QB’s.

The STN coaches are handleing this well in terms of balancing the development of the Young-Gun and doing what is best for the team and his development. Drendel at NN handled Aiden Gray the exact same way his Soph Year and look what it did for them, then and now.

By my count, it’s about 50/50 (+/-) on this thread. The love is even given this is a home game for STN.

The line in this game has shifted. It was WWS -2.5 to open. It’s now even.

WWS @ STN is a “pickem” with an over/under of 29.

The team that gets more turnovers wins!

Some more points:

Both teams played each other in a JV Game Monday morning at STN.

STN dressed 29 of 62 players. Only two kids that had ANY time in Fridays game played. One being the Young-Gun, and the other being a DL that’s been sick and is on the mend.

WWS dressed 46 of 66 Players.

so… WWS dressed 70% of its roster, STN dressed 46% of its roster. All data above is based off of published data and my head count at the game.

There had to be more than a handful of
Players at WWS that played Friday and then played in a JV game.

They point I’m making: WWS is still searching for its best lineup, STN isn’t. WWS had a couple of receivers that made stupid-good catches. Very talented kids.

I think STN won 20 -0.

btw… what an incredible bounce back win last week for WWS. That is GREAT Coaching. Same could be said for STN.

The line may move to favor STN by kickoff.

This is going to be one of the best games around this weekend! Good luck to both!

I agree the SCN is more talented, especially at skill position. The difference is the WWS is much much better coached. This has become much more clear since Rick M left. (or was run off depending on who you believe)/

I think if you switch coaches, SCN is a 14 point favorite.

Should be a tight low-scoring 13-10 kinda game.

I think Vegas set the over/under at 36.5 and I would bet big on the under.

LOL…you are awesome King!

Vegas posts on Thursday’s. The line I have is from the Little Wind Casino in Ethete Wyoming… big time HSFootball oddsmakers!

If you have two QBs you don’t have one, let the younger kid play on the Sophomore team and the SR take the reigns of the varsity. If the Sophomore is better then he is the starter if he isn’t you are hurting your team by giving reps to a lesser player. Not a hard concept but this idea of playing for the future when it hurts your team is just telling your Seniors that they are t important.

One more thing…. king:

I don’t know the history of Caoching at STN. What I do know is the HC made some pretty big changes this year for whatever reason.

The D Coordinator is pretty sharp. The OC hasn’t been reckless and has had to handle personnel changes..and did it well.

I respectfully disagree on the outcome if coaches traded places. Time will tell if I’m right or wrong.

what I do know is WWS is so well coached… and I agree with you. Last week says something to that!

The “newer” staff at STN that the HC assembled is pretty darn good and has a wealth of experience, but isn’t as seasoned.

there’s your difference.

I normally wouldn’t disagree with you CB!

This situation is what’s best for the team and the Young-Gun. As I said, it worked really well at Naper North last year.

one more point… the little Brother of the Young Gun is a Frosh that plays at Soph. he is also very talented.

No room at the Inn. I agree with you, but not in this situation.

The Soph Qb brothers who is a Freshmen play Qb on the Soph currently.

Right know they have two average QB’s seem them both play

The best Qb they have is playing receiver Jake Mettetal.

I have to say the same starting in week 2 for SCE. After the last few years, no love has been warranted for SCE, that's pretty fair based on W/L. They still produce some really good college football players on all levels. Changes in coaching seems to be pointing the Fleur de Lis in the right direction. Let's be honest, week 1, most people thought they were an automatic L because they played against a team called Lincoln Way.............Central. If I recall correctly 1-2 picked them to win, week 2 completely flips and only 1-2 picked against them. They rewarded those by winning at WV. How long will the SCE love last? It will be fun to see as the season unfolds!

I think SCE most likely finishes 4-5 or 5-4. Regardless the program is definitely on the right track and will be a contender in Dukane moving forward.
