Your postulation that Montini is going to overlook Byron for ANY reason is one of the more ridiculous things I’ve ever read here.As adults we see this...
If Byron beats Montini it will be because they played better. End of story.

When and what time is the game?
Biggest win was against StL. The most important loss was against Fenwick where they gained a ton of confidence. Those losses teach the kids a ton. What do you think was each teams biggest win this season? Was it at home or on the road?
Agree Doc, both teams know this is the title game. Neither team is doing any overlooking because this is THE GAME!Your postulation that Montini is going to overlook Byron for ANY reason is one of the more ridiculous things I’ve ever read here.

All brackets 1A-6A are split north/south.Isn't it a shame a 2nd round game is called possibly a title game.
Something is messed up. Are the north and south being seeded separately in 3A.

Initially what I said is the kids are listening to adults saying Byron is down. Byron struggled. If you don't think Montini players don't read that and react/think what they hear and see is a truth YOU are sadly mistaken. No matter what a coach says... Kids will think what they think. I'm sure you've experienced this in your sports life!!! I guess Alabama believed Vandy was tough and could beat the Crimson Tide. Im sure thats what the players thought going into that game. Critical thinking is lacking even in adults I see....Your postulation that Montini is going to overlook Byron for ANY reason is one of the more ridiculous things I’ve ever read here.

Maybe some of what you say is true, but I haven’t heard anyone say Byron was “down”. Their average score this year was 50-7. They had one close game, on the road, against what is by most accounts an outstanding 4A team.Initially what I said is the kids are listening to adults saying Byron is down. Byron struggled. Have you read 1984? Ya know... Newspeak? Over the last 10 years you can hear the players "re·gur·gi·tate" what a coach says about a game/team. Sure there's always the "special" kid that says what he believes which pisses off the coach. Blackboard material wasn't a big thing back in the John Wayne days of football when I played. We just lined up and fought like hell *win, lose or draw. Today's world you have kids with headphones getting "ready" for a game so don't tell me these kids don't see what's being said about this game. Young minds are soooooo impressionable (hence indoctrination in schools) and they believe what the see, read and hear.... Montini has the recruiting edge, home cooking, and the better team. They have played the schedule from hell. LOL..... Montini has heard, read and saw this for most of the year. That's in their minds. On Saturday they will line up "ready" for the game against Byron... What I would tell my team. BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU WISH FOR BECAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT!Maybe some of what you say is true, but I haven’t heard anyone say Byron was “down”. If you want to talk about outside influences and what kids are thinking about, you can look no further than the fact that Montini was eliminated by Byron last year.
A quote from a Friday Night Drive article on 10/30 about Montini senior lineman who was voted FND MVP for week 9:
We have some payback, definitely. Not just for ourselves but for the seniors from last year’s team because they worked so hard. It’s not just a game for us, it’s a game for them. We just want the win right there.

I like Montini in this one for a few reasons: 1. Last year was heavy Junior team at key positions. 2. Switch at QB to a dual threat.
3. Closed out the year beating 4 top 100 ranked teams in convincing fashion, and I believe Byron has only played 1 top 100 team all year and it was close. 4. Playing at home and early in the bracket I believe favors Montini. 5. Made some long over due coaching adjustments.
Prediction: Montini by 2 scores
28 or more points in the past 6 games. What is your definition of offensive firepower? No way . Byron is the only team with the offensive fire power to win by two scores.
Montini has to hope this game is in the low 20s to sqeek out a maybe 3 point win.
I have been asking the same question, on and off, since last Saturday morning. Nothing, crickets!

I am pretty sure IH$A won't miss on a chance to have this game on NFHS and miss out on the amount of one time subs they would get. Look for this game on NFHS by the end of the week. Now whether it is a quality production or not.....

That kid needed the best season Holy Cross ever had in 2000 😭Whatever happened to Santos Gonzalez from Pontiac? Remember they said he was going to do a dance on JCA?
Dixon scored 28 on them.We are playing the most prolific state champ from 2023 this week. We won't get 28 points. We have to hope for a win with 22 or 23 points.
