Well just weeks away until opening season for high school football and it begins.Not world beaters like Mt.Carmel,Rochester,Loyola,Maine South,etc but sad to report 5 schools already bit the football dust.Chicago Douglas,Chicago Uplift,Chicago Farragut,Chicago Gage Park & Chicago Tech Academy have dropped football.Farragut over 700 kids & can't get at least 30 out for football.Never made the playoffs but had some decent years in the Inner City Chicago Conferences.Douglas(enrollment just over 100) made the playoffs not long ago in 2015 as did Uplift(enrollment around 250)in 2014.Chicago Tech enrollment around 250 had some great years in the Inner City Conferences.Big Rock Crossroads looks like no football & Robeson from last year is gone.Waiting to see what will happen with the new school out there.Chicago Gage Park(enrollment near 350) which had some decent teams & playoff history had seemed to get football restarted last year.John Hope also is gone as well as Team Englewood & Chicago Richards

My Dad was a Gage Park alum...sad to hear...are they going to offer the kids an opportunity to coop?

Could be too late.Solorio out in Gage has nice turf,stadium so I’m sure that is where the kids are going.They should let these school Co-Op but I think it has to be requested & approved way in advance
