Updated with Week 7 win/loss results (still week 6 pts)

There are still a number of games left for bubble teams where there is not a prohibitive favorite, but one needs to guess at a winner for a specific scenario, so YMMV.
--

Bold - Clinched (6 wins or 5 wins with 25+ points)
Italic - teams with "pick'em" games

Assuming five wins in NIC-10 (40 points) gets into playoffs

Nice work and thanks for doing this. As a GW fan, I'd like to see them in 8A. I can't see any way that both HF and Loyola get beat before Thanksgiving, so the only way GW gets from #3 to #1 is to beat one or both of these teams. No disrespect to other 7A teams, it's just that Libertyville and the other powers in 7A aren't ranked above GW.

That said, and short of a fifty kids moving out of Simeon, can anyone suggest how GW might find itself in 8A with a shot at #1?

I think Loyola and HF would have to be close and GBW would have to dominate playoffs. Alternatively, There will be a few 8A teams from WSC that will be in playoffs, so you can see how HF and Loyola match up against those teams if they play and compare it to GBW victories over same.

Sure, it can happen if any 8A bubble team above that is projected in 8A ends up losing and none of the bubble out teams have big upset wins.
--
Such bubble in teams having an upset loss could be :

Bolingbrook loses to Lockport.
Joliet West loses to Lockport or Stagg.
Plainfield South loses to Plainfield Central (and Oswego as predicted).
Glenbard East loses to Bartlett.

Ok thanks. Those are all excellent opportunities. Fingers crossed. Let's all meet at GEPreps house on Oct. 24 for a bracket party...lol!

It would be great for GW to win 8A, but that said, I would rather end the season with another 7A title than a possible loss in an 8A semi-final.

I would like to see a Glenbard West v Glenbard North playoff game.

Glenbard West v Libertyville would be a nice 7A title game.

I'd be ok with that, if the 8A game were Barrington/Edwardsville...lol.

Wow. Not nearly as clear as before. We will go wherever they tell us to go, and play whomever. This team is on a roll and has all the weapons needed to play the best. Battle tested and boldly playing their best ball through the gauntlet we just faced.

Now the fun starts

Cap, I fear you have been reading too many Golden Domer posts. Let's get the job done and when we get back to GE drinking beer and eating leftover turkey sandwiches we can trash talk to our heart's content.

I believe I said we are on a roll, has all the tools and will be ready to play whomever...I have no fear of 8A. Always nice to measure yourself against the best. Last year we came within 5 yards of the best. I think this team might be even better than last year.

You bring the turkey sandwiches, I'll bring the turkey gumbo.

You doing gumbo after proviso west?

Well done GW, 2 things:

1. Lincoln Park hasn't quite qualified yet. Young and Lincoln Park are in the same conference and Young won handily. (Mind you, they are the favorites to finish 2nd)

2. We're assuming East St. Louis stays on strike here? Because They have to be in 7A if they get in,...

Gooms,

1. Assumption is that LP will beat 0-7 Roosevelt next week and will have 6 wins and finish 2nd in CPL Chicago (Big Shoulders).

2. Assumption is that ESL will not be in the IHSA playoffs. It just makes more sense now with two forfeits and two weeks remaining in regular season to not include ESL.

GEPreps, did you do this exercise for all of Class 6A as well, or only for the few teams listed? I guess I am asking because of my interest in following this class as well (and 5A for that matter). Regardless, thanks for your effort put into this, This is indeed the part of the season which starts to get especially interesting for me.

I can give it a shot later, but I will ask you to pick the winners in the bubble games, in a follow up post, to complete a scenario.
