6A championship conversation

I agree there. But I watched the game yesterday and parts of some earlier rd games. They don't seem to feed him the ball nearly enough.
they have two other high quality receivers in Finn Weppner (Sr) and Bennet Konkey (So). Both are 6’1” and in the 175-180lb range with excellent hands. Weppner is a hair under 1k yards receiving on the season while Konkey has 500. Weppner excels at out jumping DBs and winning 50/50 balls. Batavia tried to take away Taylor and Weppner ended up with 3TDs.

In their one loss StCN blitzed the hell out of them from every angle possible. The OL had a terrible time picking it up and Chahino was under constant pressure. If you give him time to throw (like C-G rushing two guys several times) he’s deadly.

The ESL secondary will be quite the test for the Geneva passing game but I do not expect the Vikings to lay down. ESL may very well win but it’ll be closer than most think.

I am not saying you guys dont have 3 good hs WR. Im saying you only have 1 AA in TT. If Chahino is going to throw in to double coverage or force throws in tight spaces, those throws should be to TT.

No one should expect a non-competitive championship game. Everyone will bring their best. I and other ESL supporters despise people making statements that we are gonna blow another team out. It takes away from the weekly preparation and competitiveness that our kids devote week in and week out to prepare for whatever opponent is on the other side of the ball. We are a legit program who takes ourselves seriously and opponents as well.

It’s just grossly overstated and a bit reckless is all. I don’t know much about Geneva outside of Taylor, much like you obviously are not fully aware of ESL’s.
Your opinion is based on not knowing much about Geneva.

Every time ESL plays up in Chicagoland I try to see them play. I’ve seen them several times over the years and am very familiar with their program.

I realize in most years my comment on another team’s WR group over ESL’s group is ridiculous but not this year with Geneva’s group.

Doesn’t mean they are going to win bc I’d take ESL at pretty much every other position.

If Geneva is going to have any shot in this game their WR’s are going to have to beat man coverage all day and score 40+ points. That might not even be enough.

I look forward to seeing how their WR group can matchup up for 4 quarters vs the ESL secondary and how the pass pro holds up.

Have you seen this years group of ESL WR play in person? If not, this is a homer statement which is understandable. I am just trying to gage the basis of the statement.

Geneva’s HC Boone Thoregson is my pick for Coach of the Year.

Big fan of what he’s accomplished in his short time at Geneva and especially this year.

I would have to go with LA coach based on the adjustments from the first game to now. After the ESL game, LA was questionable and written off when SF beat them. To be in the finals going through Marist and LWE is hard to top. Much respect!

I have seen highlights and pits and pieces of games online.... but no, haven't seen in person.

I'm not a Geneva fan. No homer opinions here.
