Kewanee is going to make one of the longer trips in 4A and take it out on the Olney offense.Olney is a great story, but they are a 4A school beating 1 and 2A schools. They are likely a second round exit.

I hear ya, but same offense, same defense, basically the same roster (minus graduates) from a year ago for Breese... I can't see any different outcome... I'm not trying to be rude, I'm trying to be realistic. I don't see any way Breese keeps it closer than 20. Unless the Rochester injuries pile up here in the next week or two... People tend to forget that this time of year, DL outcoaches just about every opposing scheme thrown his way. The success of the program speaks for itself there.Breese would give them fits.
And 42-0 the year before. Meaning this Breese senior class has given up a combined 91 points enroute to 2 straight running clocks.I hear ya, but same offense, same defense, basically the same roster (minus graduates) from a year ago for Breese... Rochester* thumped 'em by 36 in the quarters in '23... 49-13
I think so.Hypothetical question regarding 4A north:
Seeing as how 4A north seems to not have a clear favorite, would Montini and/or Byron be the favorites if they were 4A?
I see the favorites in the north currently as Dixon, St. Laurence and Wheaton Academy. Seeing as Byron beat Dixon and Montini rolled SL ..... yes I would say Montini or Bryon would be favored in the North.Hypothetical question regarding 4A north:

🤣...And let's be frank, Murphsyboro is not only an annoying drive but their fans make noise like they're trying to summon Helen Keller from the dead.
Yup.. I say it often, but there's very few programs in this state that can match the offense, the defense, the special teams, the coaching, the mental aspect, and the overall talent that Rochester possesses year in and year out.And 42-0 the year before. That's not the Keller I'd be worried about...I've said early on that Breese has been one of the few teams which has slowed down Rochester. Having been to all three of their playoff matchups, all three of which were running clock victories, we feel perfectly confident but humble in Derek dismantling the Breese defense and Buecker stopping their offense which has only gone against lesser competition.
The average Breese opponent is ranked 270th in the state, while facing only ONE in the double digits. Whereas the average ranking of the Rochester opponent is 168th. Offensively, they are equal in stats. However, defensively, Rochester has slowed down better offenses. Let's hope this matchup occurs, which would be in the quarterfinals. This game is likely to occur in Breese as both squads will face underdog winners in the second round. I have complete confidence the Rockets will beat Mt. Zion handily, whereas Breese and Murphysboro matchup closely in style of play. And let's be frank, Murphsyboro is not only an annoying drive but their fans make noise like they're trying to summon Helen Keller from the dead.
I like Dixon’s QB, watched the Byron game and was impressed with the entire team. DePaul Prep is probably the most battle tested in 4A and a few plays away from being 8-1 but I’m sure a lot of teams can say the same thing. Can’t sleep on Rochester either. Its good to have dreams but make them realistic!!!! Ive kept up with Olney since they beat Taylorville. Im happy they have had a damn good season but Dixon is tough. Wish ya all the luck!!!
DePaul has definitely impressed this year. I did a predictor based on North?South and one based on the preferred 1-32. Surprising that matchups made such a difference. In the North South version I have Rochester beating Cahokia and St. Laurence beating Coal City. In the 1-32, I have Rochester beating DePaul and St. Laurence beating Richmond-Burton. Nonetheless, the same final game.I like Dixon’s QB, watched the Byron game and was impressed with the entire team. That early Charleston game was feisty.Yup.. I say it often, but there's very few programs in this state that can match the offense, the defense, the special teams, the coaching, the mental aspect, and the overall talent that Rochester possesses year in and year out.
Many have been close... Althoff, Metamora, heck even QND way back when in a 23-21 slugfest. But you've got to have all of it, and all of it clicking on the same day at the right times to beat the Rockets.
Every year we sit here and dissect the south 4A bracket and we come up with a few, maybe a couple, maybe just one team that can give Rochester a true fight... and nearly every time those games end lopsided in the Rockets favor. It gets to a point where it feels like insanity... and picking against the Rockets in 4A South this time of year, is certainly at some level of insane.
Rochester/Breese gives off strong Rochester/Charleston vibes personally. And those were some darn good ChuckVegas teams in the mid-2010's that Rochester walked all over...
Very senior heavy class. Nothing like the past 2 years versions.I hear ya, but same offense, same defense, basically the same roster (minus graduates) from a year ago for Breese... You’re an idiotTaking the field over Rochester. Are there any physical teams in 4A? Rochester is good, but they don't like to get hit.
I don’t believe your thoughts qualify as ideas. The vast majority of Rochester 🏈‘s rushing yards are between the tackles. All 1577 of them.Taking the field over Rochester. Are there any physical teams in 4A? Rochester is good, but they don't like to get hit.
Now now, let’s veil our insults as thoughtfully written in order to try to springboard his brain to think logically. Something like, “ it’s dumbfounding how dumb has literally found him.“You’re an idiot

Or like, your unilateral analysis, devoid of dissenting opinion, and emboldened by your foll-hearty breatheren belies the obvious lack of substance to your assertions of grandeur?
Was this a thought or the human version of an emptying of the Recycle Bin which ended up spilling on the floor.Or like, your unilateral analysis, devoid of dissenting opinion, and emboldened by your foll-hearty breatheren belies the obvious lack of substance to your assertions of grandeur?

Well that's certainly a new accusation I haven't heard. Interested in where you came up with that one?!Taking the field over Rochester. Are there any physical teams in 4A? Rochester is good, but they don't like to get hit.
I sure wish someone would have told me you didn't have to be physical to win 9 state titles in less than 2 decades...
It's gross, get a room!Look you guys getting along
This is an old trope not necessarily specific to Rochester -- that spread teams aren't physical. Taking aside the fact that Rochester runs a lot of gap scheme/power, I'd second the sentiment that 9 state titles without being physical probably isn't a thing. The idea that teams "don't like to hit" because they don't line up in double wing with 8 kids with lineman numbers on the field at a time is a fallacy.Taking the field over Rochester. Are there any physical teams in 4A? Rochester is good, but they don't like to get hit.
We’ve set aside our differences. They beat Sacred Heart Griffin by a wider margin than we did. And they showed they belonged in the central state 8. I will be cheering for them to make it to state. However, should we get them in a crossover game in an upcoming season, I hope their bus breaks down on the long drive back on 72 to Adams County about halfway between Barry and the 172 interchange. maybe on that bridge where it gets nice and cold in the fall. But for the other eight games of the season, my Jesuit background says I must be hopeful for the other Catholic school in our conference.Look you guys getting along

As it sits...I think Wheaton Acd is coming out of the north this year.
I see your squad is a strong contender all the way to the semifinals. And then the match ups get very very close.Don't sleep on DePaul Prep
My pick to win 4A. Ain't no 4A teams beating Loyola, Benet or St Francis. 6-3 record very deceiving.Don't sleep on DePaul Prep
Shhh.... Thems my sleeper pick! (Cue devilish laugh - it's halloween y'all)Don't sleep on DePaul Prep
Gross, Barry used to have a 9-holer we'd hit up when we wanted a VERY laid back round of golf... That town gives me the heebie-jeebies... Strong Jeepers Creepers vibes going on there. We’ve set aside our differences. They beat Sacred Heart Griffin by a wider margin than we did. And they showed they belonged in the central state 8. As I type, I find it difficult to hear you with the nine state championship rings clanking together. So we will tolerate your insolence as we do not know how to act when we lose a first round playoff game. Maybe you could give us some guidance. How does one cope? How does one conduct themselves as they turn their jersey in for the last time while not having a championship ring delivery in their future? What do people like you do on Thanksgiving knowing you can eat anything on the table because you have nothing planned for Friday or Saturday night? Please enlighten us as losing is unfamiliar territory as some of our players weren’t even born the last time we had three losses in a single season. This aged well, huh, Rochester homers?
