EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2025 Plainfield Central Wildcats
Plainfield Central and second year head coach Robby Carriger is looking forward to having a full summer and a year under his belt after taking over the Wildcats football program last summer. Look for the Wildcats to improve upon it's 0-9 season in 2024 season as they will welcome back a good core of returning starters (6 offense 7 defense) as a key this fall.
The biggest question facing Plainfield Central this summer?
Can the Wildcats bounce back starting this season and get back to winning ways? Plainfield Central has no question been a program that has been more down than up, especially over the last few decades. The Wildcats program made the IHSA state playoff in back to back seasons in 2021 and 2022 under then head coach Rob Keane so they aren't too far removed from winning. Look towards the early non conference games as a good barometer for Plainfield Central against both @ Waukegan and Metea Valley. Also a positive for Plainfield Central here is that the conference (SW Prairie East) isn't exactly an overwhelmingly strong gathering again in 2025.
