Impact Player for Maine West?
Maine West senior DE/WR Alex Gorbenko (6-foot-4, 225 pounds) is a big, strong and verty physical two way starter for the Warriors. Gorbenko, who is also a multi-year varsity starter for Maine West will again be asked to provide leadership and production on both sides of the football this fall.
Looking for a sleeper name to watch this fall for Maine West? Maine West senior S/OLB Maks Makota is a talented defender with very good speed and ball skills.
EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Maine West Warriors
Maine West and head coach George Klupchak is looking to build upon it's 2023 season which saw the Warriors post 9-1 overall record. The Warriors posted a perfect 9-0 regular season record in 2023 then lost to Collinsville in opening round of the Class 7A state playoffs to end the season. Maine West head coach George Klupchak has posted a 16-13 record in 3 seasons leading the Maine West football program.
The biggest question facing Maine West this summer?
Can the Warriors reload in the skills this summer and continue to win games and get back into the post-season this season? Maine West welcomes back a nice core of linemen on both sides of the football this summer. Yet the Warriors will need to replace basically it's entire offensive skills group plus the v=back seven on defense. The Warriors did look pretty capable this summer in 7on7 work and if they can keep making strides theyn can no question win the Central Suburban North and get back into the playoffs this fall.
