Impact Player for Lakes:

Lakes Community junior OL Andy Mlyniec (6-foot-4, 275 pounds) has the physical tools and potential to play at the higher college level. Look for Mlyniec to continue to develop this fall and for more and more colleges to checkout his 2023 season video this fall.

EDGY's Quick Take on the 2023 Lakes Eagles:

Lakes Community and head coach Jason Ellerman in 2022 just missed out on making the IHSA state playoff field and posted a 4-5 record. The Eagles actually came within a point to getting to 5 wins as a Week 9 40-39 loss to Grayslake Central kept the Eagles at home in the post-season. Lakes had made the IHSA state playoff field for 12 straight seasons before 2022, so the Week 9 loss no question will serve as motivation to a program seeking some payback and returning to it's winning ways this fall.
The biggest question facing Lakes in 2023? Can the Eagles reload in several key spots and get back to winning games and getting back into the IHSA state playoff field in 2023? Lakes welcomes back just 8 returning starters (4 offense 4 defense) and look for the Eagles to seek answer at some key spots (QB/RB/OL/LB/DB) this summer. Lakes has always been able to bounce back and reload as well as anyone in the NLCC, and I'm looking at Lakes to post a 6-3/7-2 caliber season in 2023.
