2022 Team 7on7 or Team Summer Camp?

6/27: South Elgin
6/29: Barrington
7/13: Nazareth

Impact Player for Cary Grove:

Senior LB Colin Desmet (5-foot-9, 170 pounds) was the Trojans leading tackler in 2021 and Desmet will be asked to provide both leadership and more overall production this season for Cary Grove. Desmet could also wind up drawing some additional college looks and interest this summer and fall.

EDGY's Quick Take on the Cary Grove Trojans:

The Trojans (14-0) made the 2021 Class 6A state playoff field and won the state title and posted a perfect 14-0 record in 2021. Cary Grove defeated Rockford East, Grayslake Central, Crystal Lake Central and Lake Forest before upsetting highly ranked East St Louis 37-36 in the 6A state title game. The good news is that Cary Grove is coming off a state title win last fall, the not so good news is the Trojans have a ton of reloading to do this summer. Cary Grove welcomes back just 3 returning starters on defense and none on offense. However, this program is never short on talent and numbers and I fully expect CG to be once again in the hunt for the FVC championship along with a handful of usual suspects this season. Look for Cary Grove to use the early portion of the schedule to gain some much needed experience and be ready for what shapes up to be a monster Weeks 5, 6 and 7.
