EDGYTIM's Projected 2021 Spring Southwestern Conference finish

East St. Louis
Edwardsville
O'Fallon
Belleville East
Belleville West
Alton

So Who is The One Team That Could Surprise? Belleville East

The Lancers and head coach Michael Harrison is looking to improve on it's 3-6 record in 2019. Belleville East will welcome back an experienced roster which includes 15 returning starters (7 offense 8 defense) and this team has a decent shot at at least 2-3 wins in this six game season. Keep an eye on senior QB Lucas Maue along with senior WR Jaylen Ford while freshman two way starting OL-DL Anthony Cunningham (6-foot-4, 260 pounds) is a young guy to watch.

Preseason Conference MVP?

Edwardsville senior RB Justin Johnson Jr. - I'm sure some East St Louis fans will be scratching their head a a bit on this selection....yet in my eyes Justin Johnson Jr. is the most valuable player for the Tigers and in the conference this spring. Johnson Jr. who is signed to West Virginia is a hard nosed runner and a back who seems to get better with every carry. The bigger Johnson Jr. plays this spring the better the Tigers chances of upsetting East Side will grow. The Tigers are hardly a one man team and always have talent in house, yet Justin Johnson Jr. is an incredible athlete who will draw a ton of attention all spring long from opposing defenses.

Sleeper Player to Watch?

East St. Louis junior WR/DB Karon Parchmon-
Parchmon, who played in 2019 at Civic Memorial in Bethalo has since transferred into East St. Louis. Parchmon has all the tools to develop into yet another breakaway threat and big time play maker on a team and a roster loaded with big time play makers. The addition of incoming transfer 2022 5 star ranked Luther Burden from Cardinal Ritter will just open things up even more for Parchmon and his remaining skills this spring.

Top 2021 Spring Conference Games?

O'Fallon at Belleville East March 19th-
Right out of the gates we will see if both East and O'Fallon can get a big early win.

East St. Louis at Edwardsville April 2nd- The annual Big game in the Southwestern. This is always highly anticipated and always entertaining.

Southwestern Conference Championship Game April 24th- Also the same day as my wedding anniversary...."Hey dear ever spend a romantic weekend in Edwardsville?" Kidding (sort of).
