EDGYTIM's Projected 2021 Spring Fox Valley Conference finish
Prairie Ridge
Cary Grove
Huntley
Crystal Lake South
Crystal Lake Central
Jacobs
Burlington Central
McHenry
Dundee-Crown
Hampshire
So Who is The One Team That Could Surprise? Jacobs
The Fox Valley is again pretty stacked, especially at the top portion of the conference for this spring. Yet several teams in the FVC will no question make a case for having a shot at raising it's predicted finish here, and that includes Jacobs. The Golden Eagles and new head coach Brian Zimmerman welcomes back 11 returning starters (6 offense 5 defense) and a very favorable middle portion of the schedule in my opinion. The top tier will be very hard to crack this spring in the Fox Valley, but I like the Golden Eagles chances to raise it's predicted finish here.
Preseason Conference MVP?
Prairie Ridge senior FB/DE Carter Evans - Evans, who is signed to Eastern Michigan will again be the best player on the field in the Fox Valley conference. Evans will again be asked to carry the ground game as a fullback in the ground and pound PR offense, along with being a leader upfront on the Wolves defense. Evans is bigger, stronger and even more dangerous than he was a year plus ago. Look for Evans to again lead the Wolves to a higher level this spring.
Sleeper Player to Watch?
QB Jameson Sheehan Cary Grove- Cary Grove and head coach Brad Seaburg isn't exactly known as Throw It All Over The Field U, but that could change a bit over the next few seasons. The Trojans have a very talented signal caller in junior QB Jameson Sheehan who has a big time cannon for an arm along with possessing the physical tools to draw several college looks this spring. I don't expect the Trojans to go away from it's annual punishing option ground, yet the forward pass will no question be in the Cary Grove bag of tricks starting this spring.
Top 2021 Spring Conference Games?
Week 1 Huntley at Jacobs- A very good opening week game this spring in the FVC. Can Huntley come out firing on all cylinders and can new Jacobs head coach Brian Zimmerman get the Golden Eagles ready to challenge the upper tier of the conference right out of the gates?
Week 4 Prairie Ridge at Cary Grove- It's been THE game of the McHenry County area for years now and that won't change anytime soon. Prairie Ridge has some key names back this spring, and Cary also has a nice core of returning starters along with some real potential game breakers on the verge.
Week 6 Fox Valley Conference Bowl Week- A great idea to reshuffle the FVC deck for the final week of the season. It will definitely be interesting to see how the seeding end up for this final Bowl week. Can we get another Prairie Ridge and Cary Grove game? Maybe? Ok maybe not but regardless these will be some really strong games to end the spring season.
