Biggest Question facing Richmond Burton this fall?
Can the Rockets continue to roll both in the Kishwaukee River and in Class 4A this fall? Richmond Burton has remained on a serious roll since 2019, having won a 4A state title along with posting a perfect 6-0 spring record. The Rockets will need to reload a bit especially in the offensive skills department, yet this program under Hall of Fame Mike Noll remains on a serious roll and should be a top team to beat again this fall.
Impact Player for Richmond Burton:
Richmond Burton senior FB/LB Brock Wood. Wood has been a varsity starter and mainstay for the Rockets going back to his sophomore year on the varsity back in 2019 state championship team. Wood will again be asked to carry the load in the run game while also being a vocal leader on both sides of the football this fall.
Game to Watch this Fall? Week 6 vs Sycamore
No question I can also see Rockets fans also point towards a Week 9 game at Marengo as another top game....yet I find the Week 6 non conference game against Class 5A power Sycamore really, really intriguing on several levels. The game will be a big test for the Rockets against a very good and very physical Spartans program, and this game will also push Richmond Burton to raise it's game at the tail end of the regular season.
