Biggest Question facing Pekin this fall?
Can the Dragons hang with the upper tier teams in the Mid Illini conference this fall? Pekin and head coach Doug Nutter posted a 2-3 season during the spring and was able to get a ton of underclassmen names varsity level playing time. Pekin also has a very solid schedule this fall including two tough non conference games at Rock Island and then hosting Belleville East in Week 2. If the Dragons can come out of the gates quickly this fall the better the chances of making a decent run in the always tough Mid Illini conference.
Impact Player for Pekin
Junior RB/S Kanye Tyler. Tyler, a 6-foot-0, 180 pound junior was an all conference and all area player this past spring. Tyler also played this spring for Boom Midwest 7on7 and has begun to draw recruiting looks and attention from several college coaches this summer. Tyler is an impact player who looks primed for a big season this fall.
Game to Watch this Fall? Week 3 vs Dunlap
The Dragons have a strong early schedule, and if this team is ready to make a move up in the Mid Illini a win over power Dunlap in Week 3 would be a huge boost for this program. Even a strong showing would send a message to the rest of the Mid Illini conference.
