Impact Player for Payton Prep: Junior TE/DE Henry Boyer. Boyer (6-foot-6, 220 pounds) is already a veteran varsity starter who will again be asked to produce heavily on both sides of the football for the 2020 season. Look for Boyer to continue to draw heavy recruiting looks and attention this fall.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Payton Prep Grizzlies: The Grizzlies (8-1) made the Class 5A state playoff field in 2019 and lost to Fenwick in opening round action. Payton prep has a new head coach in Craig Knoche who takes over for former head coach and AD George Klupchak who moves onto Maine West. Knoche, who was an assistant coach at OPRF takes over a Grizzlies program with a good talent base and numbers. Look for Payton prep to again challenge for a CPL conference title along with a state playoff bid in 2020.
