The Wooden Shoes with a 5-1 hand Harrisburg their first loss of the season en rout to the class 2A Championship at Silver Cross Field in Joliet. This is the first baseball title for the Shoes after coming so close in the last several seasons. Tough loss for Harrisburg who ends the season at 40-1. Congrats to Coach Jacob Fleener and Teutopolis..Class 2A baseball champions...

In the third place game it was the Grey Ghosts of Illinois Valley Central out of Chillicothe knocking off the Immaculate Conception Knights of Elmhurst 6-4 earlier....

It was hard to watch. Harrisburg was ranked No. 4 in the Nation by one report. Prior to this, they had only been challenged once (by Metropolis Massac County). I think the inability to know what to do in such a situation may have led to the loss, and the T-Town win.
