Ok so this week I'm going to start breaking down my 2020 Preseason Chicagoland Top 30 team poll along with my Class 8A thru 5A Top 10 statewide polls.
So let's start with 8A. This is the 2020 IHSA Preseason Classification guide for polling purposes. Listed is every team in the state as Class 8A. So the first step for me is to come up with my rough draft or list of 8A teams who I feel for multiple and various reasons deserve Top 10 consideration. If your fav team isn't listed in my initial list cool...feel free to make an argument.

Thoughts and notes: Really, really like the Top 10-12 teams here. Big time strength at the top and middle of 8A. I can also see flipping more than a few team spots here when it gets down to a final ranking. The Others have some strong teams and some mystery as well. The DVC remains a huge mystery to me again in 2020. 2019 DVC in the end was not very good. 2020? Naperville Central? Tons of upside yet I can also see potholes as well....NV? Great program always have talent but the Wildcats have a lot to replace. NN? Really? Lots of young talent but they also have even more to prove in my eyes. Oswego is big upfront again so that means issues for all comers. Minooka? Young in 2020 but the Indians still have talent and will be better late than early in 2020......but is the SWPW a bit softer in 2020? Fremd will be very good this season but they also never seem to blow anyone away offensively....Bartlett was a bit higher until QB Michael Primani transferred to STCN.
