Impact Player for Mercer County:

Senior RB/WR/LB Owen Relander (6-foot-3, 185 pounds).Relander is a multi-positional starter and also a multi-sport athlete for the Golden Eagles. Relander has good sixe and length, can do a lot on either side of the football and will be asked to provide leadership on and off the field this coming fall for Mercer County.

EDGY's Quick Take on the Mercer County Golden Eagles:

The Golden Eagles (6-4) are looking to again make the IHSA football playoff field as Mercer County has never not made the state playoffs since it's decision to become a Coop for football back in 2009 from the original Aledo, a program that had been playing IHSA football since 1908. Head coach Andrew Hofer will welcome back a very strong core of returning starters back this fall and look for this team to make noise in the 2A playoff field along with challenging for the Lincoln Trail conference title.
