Trophy Points

Can anyone (Edgy?) tell me what a "trophy point" is? They are displayed on a member's profile if you hover over that member's icon, but I have no idea what it means or how it was earned. I'm just curious.

It's a way to inspire participation. You get them for various "achievements." Rivals attempt to gamify the forums. Like Schrute Bucks or Stanley Nickels
