Toughest Schedule

Providence played 6 teams that are playing in the quarterfinal's this weekend.
Willowbrook
Wheaton N
Fenwick
JCA
Loyola
St Rita.

Can any other schools match that?
Loyola 7
MC 5
SR 4, 5 if Trinity, Ky wins this coming weekend

I looked at it last night too when I saw Willowbrook, Wheaton North, Fenwick moving on and I said, darn those teams were on PC schedule. Tough schedule.

Loyola's seven are 14-0 so far in the playoffs.

Although this fact was deflated by other posters, I did enjoy Ramblinman diging and searching for an obscure statistic or detail. Reminds me of Jason and Steve: "He leads the American League Central is one-out singles with a man in scocrng position."

St Pats played Rita, Loyola, Fenwick, and De La Salle of Warren Michigan who currently is 10-0 in the playoffs there.
I imagine Faux Pelini might ask: "That's gotta be some kind of record! How big are the HS playoffs in Michigan?"

I kid. I kid. :)

How's this for obscure: Yesterday, Josh Allen, DE of the Jaguars, sacked and intercepted Josh Allen, QB of the Bills. Allen also recovered one of Allen's fumbles.

Marist has (4) in quarters and (2) more that lost in round 2. There other (3) regular season opponents were cake walks however.

Marian Central Catholic with a total of approximately 360 students in the whole school, has St. Pats, St. Rita, Fenwick, and IC in the quarter finals. That is half of the eight teams they played.
Whoa what? They only have 360 students currently?

Yes you are correct it does list 557 for MCC! The 557 is the average of the 2018/2019 and the 2019/2020 school years. They took those numbers and not the average of 2019/2020 and 2020/2021, like they said it would be on the IHSA website, for this years enrollment number. The explanation I got was because of covid. From what I was told they will have to go by that number again for next year. It's a tough schedule for teams like LEO and MCC to find five wins in the CCL when your numbers are that low. Very proud of our young men they played very tough and never gave up!
If you’re numbers are down that far people need to start planning out exit strategies.

Students will be exiting the school because it’ll be closed soon if those numbers are accurate.
There are numerous Private schools that are around with that many students. St Eds, IC, Bishop Mac, Leo, Timothy Christian to name a few.

I’m quite confused. So they had an enrollment of around 550 the last two school years and are down to around 350 one year later? Why the 200 student drop off? Largest senior class in school history? Tiny frosh class?

They didn’t have an immediate drop off like MCC allegedly had. If those numbers are accurate it doesn’t take a genius to see where this is headed.

Not the last two years. The 557 is based on 18/19 and 19/20.
Are you sure about that?

According to the IHSA records maintained for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 football seasons, MCC had enrollments of 659 and 677, respectively. When you average those two years, it comes to 668. The MCC website states an enrollment of 430, not the approximate 360 that you offered.

And 677 in spring of 20 is only 18 months removed from today. So they have dipped over 200 in that span?

I understand COVID concerns but those were probabl my a net positive for private schools in the state. Were the last two frosh classes just barely existent?

200 students down in 18 months is crazy
