Swagger High @ The Valley

Bad conference or not what the coach has done there over the last few years is really impressive it is one of the toughest places to win in the state.
He's done a great job, I can't wait until I get a chance to actually go to a game.

For those coming to South Naperville Saturday (my daughter has a dance showcase at 7:30 at Metea Valley so I gotta bolt early….grrrrr) here are some NV kids to keep an eye on:

1 - Jaden McGee, RB - he’s been beat up lately but is now healthy and running the ball with a renewed vigor. He’s probably 6’, 215. North/South runner that loves contact.

3 - Carter Sessa, WR/CB - special player on both sides of the ball. Lock down corner (Fleurima/Bostic didn’t do a whole lot against him) who is very physical at the point of attack. He’s also a dangerous WR with great hands and breakaway speed.

5 - Grant Larkin, WR - Best WR on the team. Fantastic speed, very good hands, and his football smarts are off the charts. Lines up in the backfield occasionally and is a legit weapon as a RB.

13 - Mark Mennecke, QB - very heady kid who is dangerous with his feet and his arm. Sometimes gets a bit greedy with his arm but it works out well the vast majority of the time. Slippery runner that knows how to avoid contact. Football smarts off the charts.

10 - Andre Cobb, WR/CB/PR - long and lanky kid with decent speed. Athletic on both sides of the ball.

2 - Cole Dutkovich, LB - very active LB who has top level speed and comes in to tackle with bad intentions. Heady and smart.

34 - Palmer Domschke, S/RB/K - Jack of all trades kid. Scored NVs 2 OT TDs vs NapeCentral, is a big hitter as a safety who covers a lot of ground quickly. One of the best K in the state. Can hit from 40+ easily and kicks every KO into the end zone.

79(?) - Aiden Wiltshire, DL - DVC DL of the year. Highly disruptive DL what eats up space, allowing LB/S to clean up.

Well thought out and accurate. (Might only push back a bit on who the best WR is...I might go with Sessa right now) But, Well done @NapervilleBuck

I’m less than a mile from campus and I got an inch of rain today. Gonna be a sloppy track Saturday, especially with more rain tomorrow.

With this game being played on a sloppy track, who does that benefit? I don’t think South has played a game on grass this year. Not to make too much out of it but it is sure to be a factor for both teams

I originally thought it would help NV, after seeing their overall team speed I think it helps MS.

So I got my tickets for today, one for me and one for daughter. She looked at me, hugged me, and said ….”Dad, don’t worry about coming to Metea to see me dance. You are always there and this time it’s only one dance. I’ll leave at 6:15 to go to MV and you stay at the game and give me updates.”

Yep. I raised my kids appropriately. 😎
