I exchanged some text messages with TE Sam LaPorta after his official visit to Iowa this weekend and shared them with us. Here's a recap.
On the Iowa visit:
LaPorta: "It went really good."
What stood out?
LaPorta: "Just how nice everything was and how cool the stadium is. The strength program was really unique and individualized."
Where are you at with a decision?
LaPorta: "It's just a lot to think about."
Are you planning to sign on Wednesday or wait?
LaPorta: "I'm thinking Wednesday."
Currently, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound LaPorta is considering offers from Iowa, Bowling Green, Yale, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Northern Iowa, Illinois State, Western Illinois, Southern Illinois, and Lindenwood.
As a senior, LaPorta put up huge numbers for Highland with 68 catches for 1,457 yards and 19 touchdowns, earning first team all-state honors at wide receiver in Class 5A.
