Here are my winners from the bracket challenge...who do you have?

8A - Lincoln-Way East
7A - Downers Grove North
6A - Cary-Grove
5A - Nazareth Academy
4A - Richmond-Burton
3A - Byron
2A - Quincy Notre Dame
1A - Althoff Catholic

I could be way off on R-B (could be out after Rd 1), QND, and Althoff (heard some injuries) but I feel confident in the larger classes.

So I apologize in advance to the fans of the Griffins, Trojans, Trojans, and Roadrunners.

Haven’t seen the Prep Bowl playoffs but the Catholic League will win it

Southern IL guy here.... serious question... I saw DGN vs O'Fallon and was impressed. Why so little love on here?

Uncertainty.

Downers Grove North looked very good during the first six games of the season. Then, they have looked very unsteady the last three games. They built a 20-0 lead against Lyons Township (which is still undefeated) in their seventh game but lost their all-everything quarterback to injury in the process. They collapsed late in that game and lost 21-20. The combination of the late collapse and the loss of their quarterback seemed to shake their confidence.

Although they won their eighth game handily, it was against a very poor opponent.

In their last game of the regular season they defeated a below-average Hinsdale Central team 42-28. Not only was the point differential concerning, but 28 points was the most they had given up all season. In addition to an excellent passing attack, their defense had been a major strength for most of the season. Then, in both games seven and nine the defense suddenly looked vulnerable.

The quarterback did return for the last game of the regular season, but it is uncertain if there may be lingering effects from his absence.

The end result is that I'm not sure what to make of Downers Grove North's chances, especially since they would have to play a good CCL/ESCC team in the second round, possibly on the road. I could see Downers possibly losing that second-round game, but I can also see them with a reasonable possibility of winning the 7A championship.

Everybody sleeping on DePaul Prep in 4A. They're gonna shock a lot of people.
This is Great call. I don’t know if geneseo still runs the wing t, but if they get past them in round 2 they could make a nice run. They will also have some tough tests in stI, richmond Burton etc, but I don’t see them or anyone else beating Rochester. St Laurence has a good shot of making a run as well.

Haven't seen them lately, but heard they're running the C-G triple option.

No idea but I’m going out on a limb and taking Batavia vs. StC North in the 7a title game.
Na…this ain’t the year for Batavia.

Just one man’s thoughts but they need to open up their offense to compete with the big dogs of 7a
