DePaul ranked in 3A while IHSA lists their enrollment at 833, which would put them on the large end of 4A and possibly 5A

The AP doesn't update classes through the season. They'll be listed in 3A all year.

Casey Westfield started week one at number 7, have gone 4-0 since then and have dropped to 10. how does that make sense

I heard the enrollment numbers are updated by IHSA every 2 years. Idk is that's accurate to be honest. But 833 are numbers from 2022. Our numbers are over 1200 in 2024. Would those numbers put at 6A, possible 7A? Yikes!!

To my understanding, enrollments are recalculated every two years.
Any applicable multipliers or success factors are then applied.
The resulting number is the “official enrollment” for the next 2 year cycle.

With their current number of 833, they have zero chance at 3A, and are likely 4A with an outside shot at getting pushed up to 5A. 1200 would probably still be 5A.

I have limited knowledge of DePaul Prep, but they seem to be building a brand there. One of my good coworker friends went to Gordon Tech which I believe was the predecessor to DePaul.
