LZ's Luke Mertens comes to mind. Has done an outstanding job navigating through, and dealing with head-on, the issues from last year and getting that program back on track (yes, it was wobbling badly from 2014-2016). And has anyone seen the improvement in that offense (same QB and RB from last year)? He gets the credit for that IMO.

Ron Dawzak. Becomes head coach only a month before the season starts and leads Marist to first ever undefeated season, and #3 seed in 8A

Again the focus was on the schools and coaches not usually on the radar screen etc. really no wrong answer here
