Multiplier plus SF?

What happens to a team that is subject to the SF penalty and is re-multiplied in the same year. Okay, for example, let’s say SHG makes it to the state finals the next two years. The multiplier comes back on, and they also qualify for the SF starting in 2027. There is also a chance that their current enrollment of about 500 dips to say 485. If that happens, the multiplier only moves them one class, 3A to 4A. So, is that it?

All.... The SF "penalty" (thank you) is clear. Only a one class bump up from the previous two year enrollment average that establishes a specific class designation. SF supersedes the multiplied enrollment even if a schools has less students.

Now where it gets interesting and I can't imagine this ever happening would be this. Lets say school x has the SF starting the new enrollment average but enrollment has exploded over the two years and multiplied would put them two classes up. Haven't seen Ihsa language but I would assume then the SF is eliminated and they play up two classes. Ratsy P.S. I still believe SHG at the end of the 2025 regular season will end up in 4A. We will see.

Thats right. SF only guarantees a move up 1 slot. If multiplier or enrollment bumps them too, that applies.

Most likely scenario this could come into play is some of the 8A schools who could play 6A with a waiver. Not hard to imagine a Marist making two 6A finals appearances and multiplier brings them to 8A such that SF is moot.
