Mount Carmel 37 Carmel Catholic 16 FINAL

Great job by the Corsairs! Lot of Ex Bears on that staff! I didn’t know Olin Kruetz was coaching there! And Johnny Knox! But MC defense had a bad night tackling, secondary missed a lot of tackles and gave up some passes. #2 for COM was great and the QB was very poised. Darrion Dupree was outstanding. 4 TDs, huge catch on 3rd down to keep a drive going. He’s really turned it on the past couple weeks. Great Oline play. Refocus and get ready for Rice.

Yes, yes to all of the above. CoM has size and talent, and smaller guys who can run and catch. A tense, exciting game for a while, but then a big sack and an INT helped to ice it in Q4.

I ran into a girl today who wore something printed with the words "Carmel, California." Now Carmel, California, or Carmel-by-the-Sea, is one of the most beautiful spots on Earth, and one of the most expensive. But back to the girl. Struck by the three-way coincidence, I had to tell her that last night Mt. Carmel of the South Side beat a school called Carmel of Mundelein. She told me that she went to CofM. I told her that I'd love to live in Carmel, California.

Yes. Guy made some good movies.

Fort Ord, on the same peninsula, was an ideal location for the U.S. Army to have an active base.

I rode my motorcycle from San Jose to Monterey on a beautiful California day.

I’ve made the trip from SF to LA and on to SD on CA-1. It’s amazing. Bucket list stuff gentlemen. I did it in a Tahoe not a motorcycle.

Nice
I rode mine from Long Beach to San Francisco. All the way up PCH. The California coast is awesome. Many small beach towns to stop along the way. Just a nice ride, beautiful.

I lived in the Diamond Bar Holiday Inn for a month until I could fill a position for our Brea branch manager. Was told by hotel staff and restaurant workers nearby, that only Asians and Snoop Dog live there. Snoop at the top of the mountain. Honest to God. It is quite a haul to Compton.

Since we’re reminiscing…

Favorite album by the Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (‘66). Hands down.

Being a Pontiac guy (when brand loyalty actually mattered), my favorite album cover is ‘Shut Down’ and the cropped picture of the blue ‘64 Grand Prix (dominated by Dennis Wilson’s Corvette, unfortunately).

My Dad had a ‘64 Bonneville from Ridge Motors (Park Ridge) with a 389 that doubled as a daily-driver and a weekend competitor at Lake Geneva Raceway back in the late ‘60’s.
He was there every weekend with his two brothers.
Didn’t miss a ‘Sunday Race Day’ from ‘68 (when all three brothers came back from ‘service’ to their country in late summer ‘67), all the way through ‘77 when the track ‘unofficially’ closed. I have hundreds of his time slips in shoe boxes. They’re gold to me along with all the slides (yes, slides) of the pictures from their track days I’ve inherited.

‘Sunday, Sunday, Sunday…’

‘Win on Sunday, sell on Monday…’

In 1970, I bought a '62 Tempest convertible from an AF nurse. Lucky for her she was transferred to Korea, or I'd want my $$ back. Everyone should own one convertible in their life, but not the lead sled I bought.

Lol
My first convertible was a red 73 MGB! Lol
Great for Southern California weather but had electrical problems out the wazoo! Let my girlfriend at the time barrow it and she blew the head gasket. I worked on that car more than I drove it! Funny times, looking back. 🤣
