Morris 35, R-B 7 FINAL

HUGE statement win for Morris. It was obvious they wanted this one bad.

Anyone go to the game who can provide a summary? Was it Morris dominating? Did RB have a bunch of turnovers?

I watched online. Morris more than held their own on the lines. Morris basically dominated.
Morris QB picked them apart on offense. I believe he was 9/10 passing. 4 TDs. In the 2nd half, the Morris run game really got going.
R-B had a couple long drives that stalled out in the Morris red zone. I think R-B took the second half kickoff and had the ball for 9 minutes came away empty. Morris then quickly scored to go up 28-7, and that was basically the ballgame.
Morris looked great.

Morris set tone from opening kick off. Big return on opening kick off led to Morris 1st score. RB got the ball back and had it for over 7 minutes and Morris held them. Morris then went about 80 yds and went up 14-0. Morris lines were big reason for the win. Button was never really touched or pressured all night...he was 9-9 at one point and threw 4tds. Running Back..Swartz had about 150 yds rushing.
Saw where it was Richmond-Burtons 1st regular season loss since 2018. A very nice win for Morris with all signs pointing to the week 9 showdown for all the marbles in the conference.

I watched this game online intermittently through the first and and all of the second half. And all I can say is Morris manhandled RB. I was actually quite impressed on how easily they moved the ball and with the D how they bent but didn’t break. I had Morris finishing 7-2 and I think most that are better in the know did as well. But after this win and the Sycamore -Kaneland game only being a 1 point game I may have to rethink and feel as Morris could /should go 9-0 this season. Dare I say that if they beat Sycamore week 9 and go 4A that they’ll be playing in Bloomington day after thanksgiving. IMO.

That was a HUGE point in the game. If Burton scored there, we have an entirely different ballgame. I was on the Morris side and everybody took a deep breath after that one. You could tell it knocked the wind out of the RB players, too.

Sycamore had their cage rattled last night , but survived. This will re-focus them. They will come in to Morris week nine and take care of business. Morris will be 8-1 and host first round.

You may be correct but I will say that I’ve seen both Sycamore and Kaneland in person and they have not been impressive to me. They’re both good teams but just lacked something. Maybe it was the opponent I cant say. I truly was impressed by what i saw last night. Unfortunately I will it be able to see another HS football game in person this year as my work schedule has me 7-12s til Christmas but I’ll watch as much as I can of the Morris/Sycamore game in week 9 and from what I’ve seen I’d say Morris wins by 4. I’ll say 28/24 now so I don’t have to later. 😂.
Regardless if morris is 4A they’re to be reckoned with no matter if they’re N or S
