I thought there would be more chatter on here about the "Holy War".. Does anyone think Providence has a chance at an upset here? Are both teams healthy going into the game? Looking forward to watching a great game on Saturday!

"Holy War", are we sure this is the correct term for this game? I mean they're both private Catholic schools, so wouldn't they be on the same side in any Holy War? Wouldn't they need to have conflicting religious ideologies for this to be a Holy War, ie BYU vs. Utah? Just sayin'

That being said, Provi gets revenge and wins by a FG.

Should be a great game. First one was a barn burner. PC was a tough win for SR. JCA last played SR in 18 and 19 but JCA declined on renewing the contact. I wonder how much a 15 mile radius would effect their student body. It's shame both schools were on the same side of the bracket. JCA is favored by a score but it's very hard to beat a very good closely matched team twice in the same season. PC may win a upset by a field goal.

JCA won the first game running and throwing out of a shot gun / spread formation. Wind and rain would make that difficult on Saturday. Bad weather may favor the Celtics.

Are light showers and 62 degrees playing on turf considered bad weather for most in the Midwest?

I get wind gusts being an issue (especially with kicking/returning), but both teams should be able to pass/throw the ball in equal conditions essentially (with-the-wind), at some point.

Think it's going to depend on when the rain quits but wind could be a big factor. Per the weather channel for New Lenox on Saturday:

Windy. Showers early with clearing later in the day. Morning high of 62F with temps falling to near 50. Winds SW at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 70%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Lights go out is a good one!!
Recall that JCA had SHG at home for a semi final a few years ago. Terribly windy day. Terrible. JCA won the toss and took the wind at their back. Then they took the lead. Then SHG tried to punt on a possession, still in Q1, and the ball went straight up and down. By the time the quarter was over, the game was just about was as well in JCA's favor. SHG could not come back from the deficit.

From my understanding through my nefarious contacts, SR and JC will be playing week 3 next year (and 2024) in a crossover.

That will be great. Two storied programs. Had a younger brother who played at Joliet Junior College and has lot of JCA friends. He'll be tailgating.

Have you heard through the grapevine who JC's Blue crossover opponent will be? The Caravan possibly?
