IWU in D3 National Championship

At 2:30 today (about 15 minutes from now) Illinois Weslyan will play for the D3 National Championship vs. SUNY Cortland. This is a very imporbable run considering IWU needed to win their conference just to advance to the NCAA tourny. They were barely above .500 going into it.

IWU beat Cortland 17-5 in the championship game. What a run for them to close out the season. The 2009-2010 year was outstanding for IWU athletics, both men's and women's.

It just goes to show you how in a game like baseball whoever gets hot at the end can make a major run in the post season. Things like this won't happen in football or basketball.

Congrats to Jeff Grodecki a former Glenbrook South Titan. He went 5-5 with 2 bombs in the championship game to earn MVP honors.
