They Said It! Quotes from Those Around the CCL/ESCC White Conference

"Fenwick has talent but they need to get out of the gates quicker this fall."
"Marmion always is a tough matchup for us ."
"St. Ignatius went toe to toe with us for four quarters and gave us a good game."
"DeLaSalle has some decent kids back for this fall."

Preseason Conference Most Valuable Player?

QB Kaden Cobb Fenwick

Fenwick and senior QB Kaden Cobb (Ball State) had a rough spring season and Cobb early in just struggled getting his game in gear. Cobb has a ton of talent and upside at the college level and will need to be ready to go from the start of the fall season. The Friars offense also has a ton of weapons and should allow Cobb to settle into his role and play to his strengths this season.

Toughest Overall Schedule?

Fenwick-
The Friars will have zero wiggle room whatsoever in the regular season this fall. Fenwick opens up against Morgan Park, then will also face Niles Notre Dame, Providence along with Loyola in cross over and non conference games. The Friars will also have no freebies within the CCL/ESCC White and nothing will come easy for this team this fall. Fenwick had a slow start this past spring and will no question need to get a few wins early this fall.

Sleeper Player to Watch?

DeLaSale senior RB/WR/DB Ray Coffey
-Coffey is a multi-positional player and starter for the Meteors this fall. Coffey was solid this past spring at running back and showed he can be an every down back in the Meteors attack. Coffey will also play defensive back again this season and if the Meteors can make a run at the uper portion of the CCL/ESCC White look for Ray Coffey to play a big role this fall.

Top 2021 Conference Games?

St. Ignatius at Marmion Academy-
September 17th- Again we have a very limited slate of conference games with just 4 teams...but this early game will give us a pretty good idea of where the Wolfpack and the Cadets are heading.

Fenwick at DeLaSalle September 17th- Old school Catholic League game here....lets move this to OPRF and play it on a Sunday at 12PM instead?

Marmion Academy at Fenwick October 1st- A possible CCL?ESCC White conference title game?

CCL/ESCC White Conference Statement Game?

The Week 5 CCL/ESCC Blue crossover games-
The schedule for all of the CCL/ESCC White teams gets fully tested in Week 5 when the entire conference faces off against the CCL/ESCC Blue teams in crossover play. Fenwick will host Loyola, Marmion will face Marist, DeLaSalle will host Brother Rice while St. Ignatius will host Mount Carmel. It's a tall task to play and beat the CCL/ESCC Blue teams, but if you want to test just how good you are this season, Week 5 will be a big test for all in the White .
