Pretty fun "intra-conference" week featured some close matchups and, of course, some blowouts. Not a ton of movement in the rankings this week...but we have a huge #2 vs #3 showdown this week.
1. Loyola (6-0): Cruises to a double digit win vs a good Marist squad (LW: 1) (Playoffs: 100%)
2. Brother Rice (5-1): Big win over the young Caravan. The GOTW looms vs the Hilltoppers (LW: 2) (Playoffs: 100%)
3. JCA (6-0): Another business-like win for JCA. Biggest game of the season as they travel to the Southside (LW: 3) (Playoffs: 100%)
4. St. Ignatius (6-0): Defense. Defense. Defense. (LW: 4) (Playoffs: 100%)
5. Mount Carmel (4-2): Played tough against Brother Rice. Not dropping them for that loss...and no one else did enough to jump them. (LW: 5) (Playoffs: 100%)
6. St. Rita (4-2): Giving the Mustangs a bump after a close win vs a rising Naz team. (LW: 7) (Playoffs: 100%)
7. Marist (4-2): Played tough on the road in Wilmette. Schedule shapes up nicely with two should-be-easy games vs a Week 9 rivalry showdown vs Marist. (LW: 6) (Playoffs: 100%)
8. Fenwick (4-2): Got by Marmion...but closer than expected. Need to stay focused and not look ahead to their Week 9 Iggy game. (LW: 8) (Playoffs: 95%)
9. Naz (2-4): Giving the Roadrunners a slight bump after putting up a hell of a fight on the road at Rita. No room for error now vs Leo, Montini and Benet (LW: 10) (Playoffs: 40%)
10. Benet (3-3): Redwings get a nice win with a late FG over ND. They'll get a forfeit win this week and then will need to find a way to upset one of JCA or Naz.... (LW: 12) (Playoffs: 25%)
11. Marmion (3-3): Another tough loss vs another good team. Cadets have played a tough schedule but finish with three winnable games (LW: 11) (Playoffs: 90%)
12. Montini (3-3): I have absolutely no idea what to make of this team. Blowout win over Providence has them pinballing up and down the rankings. Still an uphill battle to make the playoffs finishing with Marist/Naz/JCA (LW: 17) (Playoffs: 10%)
13. Providence (3-3): With Loyola and Rita on the schedule, beating Montini was a bit of a 'must' for the Celtics to get in...tough sledding now (LW: 9) (Playoffs: 10%)
14. St. Patrick (4-2): Shamrocks needed to beat Carmel. And they did with ease. Must win one of their last three vs Fenwick/Loyola/Viator (LW: 14) (Playoffs: 60%)
15. Marian Central Catholic (3-3): A week after putting up a good fight vs Provi, the Canes get a must-win vs Leo. Playoffs a tough climb with Rita and Fenwick still on tap (LW: 18) (Playoffs: 10%)
