BR 27 Jacobs 0 Final

After a 3 out and ball at midfield, BR puts 7 on the board in short order. Marcus Brown just a step quicker than everyone else on the field right now.

Very close to going up 21-0 before half but pass goes off the finger tips then long field goal blocked.

Very quick half with both teams running the ball.

Hard to watch stream, but better than past years. Like having brown in game. So many options and like you say, he’s a step faster than everyone on the field.

Hard to tell who is playing on D, but it looks like 55 is in. Is his brother? Is Morrison?

Yes - all are playing. Not exactly 100% but good enough thus far.

Not getting ahead of the proverbial skis but hopefully our banged up guys can rest in the 4th Quarter.

Let’s be honest, all the teams in the Blue should be playing in 8A.
Enough already! Maybe they should all play in 12A. The blue teams are multiplied and playing exactly where they’re supposed to be. The resources these public schools have there is absolutely no reason these larger schools shouldn’t be competitive year after year. Keep your talent at home and hire competent coaches…. Coaches who receive pensions unlike their private school counterparts. Kids who receive an absolutely free education….. in quality schools to boot…. Their parents should have no reason to be seeking out private education.

12A would be perfect or a division for private schools that public schools can elect to compete in. Private schools dominate football and are even more dominant in other sports. Look at the current class A soccer finals. All 4 teams are private schools. Similar thing happens in most sports especially on the girls side. Huge difference when you can recruit players Vs playing with what shows up.

😂😂😂. All sports? Name them. Again….. Private are at an enormous disadvantage compared to their public school private parts. Here is a thought…. Public schools need to recruit these kids to stay home. Huge advantage with the resources. Instead of putting the blame on private schools perhaps you should be looking inward at what you’re doing wrong?

So can we expect you to be back on your soap box telling everyone about how private schools have the advantage in basketball once football is over?

Just stop. This argument has been played out for as long as I can remember. This is coming from someone who went to and roots for public schools. If you're sick of private schools winning, then go beat them.

We will see what the records look like after round 1. My guess is very few losses by private schools. Definitely not a proportionate record to the number of participants.
Which means what exactly? Maybe kids who attend private school are more prone to play football? Take a hike with this nonsense and clean up your own yard.

Couldn’t agree more. Nicely said. Maybe @brucealmighy can enlighten us on the public schools that dominate football year after after year? And how they manage to compete. I can’t wait to hear this.

Explain this? These kids “showed up”. And evidently did very well!

Who won 8A last year? Lockport. Who did they beat in the finals? Maine South. Who did those two public schools beat in the 8A semis? Private schools.

It CAN be done. It HAS BEEN done.

Who won 7A last year? Wheaton North. Who did that public school beat in the finals? A private school. Who did that public school beat in the semifinals? A private school.

It CAN be done. It HAS BEEN done.

Blaming private schools for your inability to compete is the easy way out. Finding a convenient scapegoat that points the finger away from your program's shortcomings makes everyone feel better when what they really should be doing is what Lockport and Wheaton North did last year. They took the harder path and simply got better.

It CAN be done.

Ok so Collinsville is making the 5 hour trek up to Rice - should be a good one

For anyone who was watching… were Hartz and Brown splitting snaps? Or mostly Hartz with a sprinkling of Brown?
