Audio: New WRJM interview with IHSA Craig Anderson

How would a shortened season help this situation? Whether HS football starts in last August or early September, how will that be any better? We still will have to deal with and mitigate this virus. Confused...

My take-away from this audio is that the start of any fall season (particularly in a contact sport) will follow the academic re-opening which will invariably lead to a shortened season which may or may not include a state series. Heck, before the early '70s it was an 8-game regular season in FB period, end-of-story. Other interpretations of what was said?

The part about 4th of July celebrating being an issue is complete BS. How about following the data and the numbers in OUR state that we worked on getting down?
Totally agree. What happened to looking at the 4 regions separately (from IDPH standpoint)?

Any if this really all hinges on some "cases" popping up here and there then it's all over. Don't string then along like spring went.

Meanwhile we wait for a safe straight answer, Let’s all head on down to our local watering hole and have drinks with no mask no social distancing with well over 50 people in the joint , or the casinos swap dirty ass chips with each other or maybe the racetrack Grundy county speedway has there big 100 laps late model feature for this weekend..... but I’m sure there going to limit the stands to 50..... nah! That’s the facts
I say this problem is not going away anytime soon and do what we can as safe as we can but let them play, because everything else is moving along.

You can check out the Pistol Shrimp and other local college kids play at the Slammers stadium in Joliet. The bar is open.

Based off the freaking traffic I was in (just the western suburbs) most people are going about their old business, was getting really irritating after getting used to the lighter traffic, wouldn't be surprised if we see a jump in road rage incidents.

Not sure when America became so soft, but really noticed it looking at old photos. Saw one today of the spectators at a Georgia-Georgia Tech game during the Spanish Flu Epidemic (I don't think I have seen anyone compare this pandemic to that, at least yet). They were wearing masks but they were watching a football game.
