Veterans Day is two weeks away, but I wanted to give you ample notice that numerous restaurants and chains are offering free meals and specials to military vets and active GIs.
Although not on the list, Wolf's Bakery at 95th and Sawyer in Evergreen Park has given a free chocolate donut to vets on on November 11th for many years. Frankly, it's my favorite freebie.
Also, the dinner offer from McCormick & Schmick is wonderful. If there is one anywhere near your house, call and make a reservation.
