Using the IHSA process for selecting the teams, here's what the 8A match-ups would be if seeding was done using Calpreps' computer ranking rather than the wins/playoff point formula used by the IHSA.

1. LWE
32. Curie

16. Andrew
17. Huntley

8. Fremd
25. Waubonsie Valley

9. Edwardsville
24. DGS

4. Lyons
29. South Elgin

13. Sandburg
20. Warren

5. Oswego
28. Plainfield South

12. York
21. Glenbrook South

2. Loyola
31. Niles West

15. Stevenson
18. West Aurora

7. Palatine
26. Taft

10. Naperville North
23. Minooka

3. Marist
30. Joliet West

14. Maine South
19. Belleville East

6. Naperville Central
27. Schaumburg

11. Barrington
22. Glenbard East

I usually wait until after the first round to start the argument.
Thinking about it a little more, the Calpreps bracket might even have more blowouts. In theory, it would have a more accurate 1vs32, 2vs31, etc, so better chances of games with wide talent spreads. Calpreps way does help chances of "best" teams (in their rankings anyway) of making the qtrs/semis. Don't end up with a potential Loyola/Marist second round game.
